Straight answer first: at Mobile Inc, iPhone screen repairs start from £50, and most sit somewhere between that and around £150 depending on the model. An older iPhone SE or a basic LCD model is at the cheaper end; the latest Pro Max with its big OLED display is at the top. We give you a firm price for free before we touch it, so you never get a nasty surprise at the counter. Below is what actually moves that number, and how to make sure you're paying a fair price rather than a made-up one.
Why there isn't one single price
People sometimes want a flat "iPhone screen repair = £X" and get a bit frustrated that it depends. But it genuinely does, and here's the honest reason: the screen itself is the biggest part of the cost, and Apple's screens have got a lot more expensive as they've got better. An iPhone 8 screen is a cheap, well-understood part. An iPhone 15 Pro Max screen is a large, high-spec OLED panel that costs many times more to buy in. We're not marking those up to be difficult — the part just costs what it costs, and a bigger, newer display means a bigger bill. That's why any shop quoting one price for "any iPhone" is either rounding everyone up to cover the dear ones, or planning to surprise you when you actually turn up.
What changes the price
- Your exact model. This is the big one. The newer and larger the display, the pricier the part. It's the single thing that decides which end of the range you're at.
- OLED vs LCD. Newer iPhones use OLED screens, which look fantastic but cost more than the older LCD panels. More on the difference in our piece on iPhone vs Samsung screen repair.
- Whether it's just the glass or the whole display. On most iPhones the glass and the display are fused into one part, so a "just the glass" crack usually still means replacing the whole screen assembly.
- Extra damage underneath. Sometimes a hard drop cracks the screen and knocks something else, like the earpiece or Face ID flex. We'd always tell you before doing anything beyond the screen.
Beware the price that sounds too good
If you see a screen repair priced well below everyone else, ask what screen they're fitting. There's a real difference between a quality replacement and the cheapest panel someone can buy in bulk. A bargain screen can come out dim, slow to respond, prone to ghost touch and flicker, or it kills your True Tone and auto-brightness. We fit quality screens because a repair that fails in a month isn't a saving, it's a second trip and a second bill. A fair price for a screen that behaves like the original beats a cheap price for one that doesn't.
How long it takes
Most iPhone screen repairs are done within the hour, and very often while you wait or nip round the shops. We keep the common screens in stock, so for popular models you can walk in, hand it over, grab a coffee and collect a working phone. For a less common model we may need to order the part in, in which case we'll tell you upfront and usually turn it round same or next day. Every screen repair comes with a warranty, so you're covered if anything's not right.
